Input Sought on Animal Control Rules
From the Bryan-College Station Eagle
The city of Bryan is asking for opinions at three upcoming public hearings on proposed changes to an animal control ordinance.
The first meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bryan Justice Center, 303 E. 29th St.
A time has not been scheduled for the June 9 hearing, which will be during a City Council workshop meeting. The last will be at 6 p.m. June 23 at the City Council meeting.
The draft includes information about the definition of an animal establishment, preventing residents from driving with an animal in the back of a truck or selling any animal on any roadside.
City officials said revamping the ordinance has been in the works for years after the Intergovernmental Committee sought to streamline it, making it more consistent with College Station's ordinance.
A version of the draft can be viewed at the City of Bryan web site.

Fort Worth is doing the same thing. They even have a webpage created for this very issue http://fortworthgov.org/animals/ordinance/. As a citizen concerned about animal welfare & quality of life in our neighborhoods, I am thrilled that this issue is coming to the forefront. Thanks for posting.
